Veterans Day Essay I wouldn’t be here or be the person I am today if it weren’t for the Veterans that fought for my freedom. I know that I wouldn’t last all the training and sacrifices I would have to do. However I am proud of all the Veterans that did make it. Veterans are important to me because of all my family members that fought in Wars. My great grandpa Elwood Diehl was in the Army Air Corp which is now called the Air Force and he fought in World War 2. My great uncle Donavan Diehl was in the Army and fought in the Vietnam War. My grandpa Butch, Paul Shenefelt, was in the army and fought in the Vietnam War. My grandpa Ron was in the Army National Guard. Lavon Shenefelt was in the Army Air Corp. Uncle Gene Selman was in the army and fought in the Vietnam war. My great uncle Rex Selman was in the Navy.
